Day 11: Thursday 2 March 2023 - Mae Wong NP > Bann Hong > Doi Inthanon NP

Today is our last day with End our guide for Central Thailand. We have enjoyed her expertise and company over the past ten days. This morning we spent a few hours around Klong Lan waterfall. We walked the length of the road up to the waterfall view point, birding along the way. It was a cool and pleasant morning in the dry forest and I enjoyed the sounds of the stream that meandered alongside.  It is the burning season at present and air quality is poor. Under the trees however, the air felt cool and clearer. I particularly felt the peace and tranquility of the place today.

Following a Thai BBQ lucnch we continued the 5 hr transfer to Bann Hong wild life reserve area to see Green Peafowl. Here the birds are acclimatised and wander throughout the local orchards. It is breeding season at present and so we were treated to a view of several males resplendent in their colours. Our drive today lead us to the foothills of Doi Inthanon with our overnight stay outside the park. We met our second birding guide Mr. Chalee and farewelled our first guide End.
